A silk mushroom from the Mediterranean is an incredibly delicious natural mushroom and is considered to be one of the world’s finest and softest natural mushrooms. As the silkworm is a natural mushroom, it can vary slightly in size. Be aware that a natural sponge must be moist before it becomes soft and lovely!

Our little silk sponge is 4-5cm, but as it is a natural sponge, they can vary slightly in size. Silk sponge is also known under the name Fine Silk Sea sponge, because of the sponge’s incredibly small and fine pores. The many fine pores mean that the silk sponge can absorb large amounts of water, which makes it useful as a washing sponge. The small silk sponge is particularly useful for cleaning the face and removing make-up, as well as for babies.

MAINTENANCE

It is important to wash the silk sponge thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water after use so that no soap residue remains in the sponge.
Never twist a natural mushroom, as this can damage the mushroom. Instead, drain the sponge by squeezing it hard.
If the sponge is used daily, it is recommended to leave the sponge in a salt solution for 24 hours once a week, for optimal maintenance. The salt solution only needs 125 grams of salt per litre of water. Then rinse the sponge with clean water, drain and let dry.
